Hollybrook Dressage League

The final of the Hollybrook Dressage League took place on Sunday – it was touch and go as to whether it would actually go ahead as the weather had been horrendous on Saturday evening and overnight. The decision was taken at 7.45 on the morning to take the chance and our luck held out as not only did it not rain during the day, but there was a good wind out which helped to dry everything out. 59 of the 72 competitors entered took part on the day.

Our Broe and Olga really excelled themselves in the Primary section, scoring an amazing 73.06% in his test and securing the Primary title for 2016. Oki and Dervilla put in another consistent performance for 4th place on Sunday, thus giving her overall 4th in the Advanced Intermediate Section, while Claire and Van Persie came 6th in a big and hot Intermediate class. Delphi and AP’s score on Sunday was sufficient to put them into 6 place overall in the Intermediate Section, and Bridget and Leddy came 2nd in the Veteran Rider class and Stanley and Nuala O’Donnell were 4th on the day in the Advanced Primary class.

The prestigious Brian Bloomer Memorial Cup awarded to the rider with the biggest cumulative percentage score over the 4 weeks of the league went this year to Mark Cassidy from the Foxborough Riding Club who produced scores of over 70% in 3 out of the 4 weeks.
